Balancing Act

First let me say that I'm a very busy mom, wife and executive with a direct sales company.  The thought of adding one more thing to my overflowing plate didn't sound like a great idea at first but after days of pondering the idea of a blog, I decided maybe it could inspire or empower other women to take on the world and enjoy every minute while doing so!!  This is a picture of my beautiful family. I've been married to
my wonderful husband, Phillip, for almost sixteen years.  He's a huge support and a wonderful father.  Our oldest daughter, Madison, is ten and she is a wonderful student and active in extra activities.  Our youngest daughter, Megan, is a happy go lucky, very busy four year old.

My husband has worked for Lowe's for almost 19 years.  Three years ago they relocated us to NE Pennsylvania.  When we moved, I naturally lost my job and became a stay at home mom.
At first I really enjoyed being laid back and just hanging out with the kids all day.  But since I'd had a career in Supply Chain and Logistics for 12 years I became bored quickly.  Now don't get me wrong, I love my girls but there is only so much housework, laundry and coloring any sane thirty year old woman can stand.  After living in Pennsylvania for a little over a year we moved to South GA.  Aha, what a pleasant change.  The weather is perfect, the people are welcoming and the food is yummy!! I had a new lease on life!!

 I started looking for work out side our home right away.  After months of applying for jobs with no call backs, I had all but given up... That is until I ran across an advertisement on my Facebook page for a new direct sales company.  It slightly intrigued my interest but only because the products were so cute and everything was monogrammed.  I'm a sucker for anything monogrammed!! So, at first I thought, I'll maybe sign up and at least I'll get a discount on the cute products for me and the girls.  I did a little research on the company and discovered that they were a bran new direct sales company based out of Savannah, GA.  They had less than one hundred consultants in the nation.  Well, it was a sealed deal when I learned that.  I thought to myself, what and amazing opportunity.  I bet anyone who started that early with any of these other direct sales companies are making great money now... As it turns out, they are!! So, on July 15th, 2012 I signed up to be an independent consultant for 2 Cutie Patooties.  It has been nothing but an amazing experience since I started.  I had NO direct sales experience so I've had to learn along the way but I just love being able to make some "play money" for my family and still be able to stay home with the girls, keep the house clean, laundry done and cook three meals a day!!! See, you really can have it all.

My days are long.  I get up before the girls do every morning so I can start advertising my business online.  I get Madison ready for school, get her lunch packed, fix her breakfast and start the COFFEE all before seven am.  She gets on the bus and my little one is usually waking up.  I fix breakfast for her, change clothes and set the TV to Sprout for a little while.  So, playtime, coloring and dancing ensue shortly after breakfast and I wait for the first quiet moment to sit down to work.  Not the easiest thing to do with an active four year old running around, dancing and singing! I wouldn't have it any other way!!

My first goal with 2CP was to build a small team before the end of the year in 2012.  I knew that with any direct sales company that you can really make some money from building a team.  I had hoped that I'd have at least a team of ten by Christmas and at years end I had one hundred and sixty wonderful women on my down-line (team).  This company has really exploded with growth and it's exceeded any expectations that I ever had.  In September of 2012, due to my tenacity I was asked to join the executive board.  I'm now, not only, an active senior independent consultant but I'm also the director of customer service for the company.  I can't even tell you how much I love my job!!!

So, I'm not rolling in the "big money" yet but I did make enough from just my down-line commissions in four short months to take my family to Disney World for Christmas!! We currently have six hundred consultants nationwide and growing everyday!! And I'm already planning our next vacation.
